![]() MATT LAUER Former president George W. Bush has granted NBC’s Matt Lauer for his first one-on-one television interview since leaving the Oval Office, on November 8, 2010, in a one-hour prime time special. George W. Bush served as the the 43rd President of the United States from 2001 to 2009. In the first part of his administration he recorded a top score on Gallup pools, when 90% of Americans supported his decisions, but in his last presidential year he saw a dramatic fall to 25%, one of the lowest in the history of White House. Since January 2010 he has been laying low in the media and early reviews on the Internet are also not very encouraging for those hoping for a former president’s image improving, readers criticizing both him and Matt Lauer on many blogs. Some analysts believe that this is not necessarily a bad sign, saying that it’s better to be criticized than to be treated with indifference. Since the end of his presidential run, former President Bush never spoke in public about the important decisions he has made in the political life, but in November he will talk to Matt Lauer about this topic and his upcoming book “Decision Points”, which will cover 14 of his most defining political decisions, a unique brand of his memoir. Matt Lauer has interviewed President Bush a couple of times during his presidency and now the event will occur nearly a week after the midterm elections. Image Credit: |
