Did he steal Nevada from Sharon Angle who was poised for a win until the last moment? Harry Reid now faces cheat accusations after Democrats were taking solace in this big win. But Sharon Angle has lodged a complaint saying Harry Reid stole Nevada by illegitimate means, saying voting machines were sabotaged and biased in favour of Reid. The Attorney General in Nevada shall look into the Sharon Angle complaint about sabotaged voting machines that in Las Vegas supposedly checked Harry Reid as entry even before the voters could cast their ballots. The case for tampering will bring the spotlight on the local union responsible for servicing these voting machines. The union had raised campaign funds amounting to $44 million for Harry Reid, and the Republican camp is now crying foul. Sharon Angle was in the lead in the exit poll predictions and Harry Reid came from behind for a stunning win. With more lawsuits in the offing, looks like the Nevada election is set for the long haul. The senatorial race has now turned into a mud-slinging match with a resurgent Republican camp disputing the four point victory margin that Harry Reid had. Sharon Angle seemed to be leading by nine points when Harry Reid edged her out by a whisker in the final count. Given what is at stake, the stage is now set for a scathing battle. Reid had managed about 50% of registered votes while his opponent got 45% of the voter pie chart. But there might be a new carve-out in the offing, if the Angle camp is to be believed. |
