One of the biggest rowing events of the year is the Head of the Charles 2010. It has been going on since 1965, and rowers come from all over to be a part of this regatta which is the biggest in the world.
This year, the event will be entering into its 46th year. It is going to be held in Cambridge on 23 and 24 October, 2010.
The Head of The Charles is not an event where only racers would be interested. Some other activities are also involved which attracts the spectators to be present and have a great time there. Different people come there to enjoy the weekend and inhale the beautiful fresh air available.
Around 8,000 rowers are expected to participate in Head of The Charles 2010 while about 300,000 spectators will be present at the regatta. Other attractions like food, entertainment and music also bring in more and more people to be a part of this event. The Weld Exhibition, Reunion Village provides a good resting place or the Rowing & Fitness Expo tent are the other things which will keep the spectators busy.
The weather forecast this year is better than it was last year. Last year, the regatta held on 17-18 Oct 2009 took place in freezing conditions and it snowed on the last day. This year temperatures are expected to be around the mid 50s and low 60s range with sunny skies. Thus the Head of The Charles 2010 is going to be an enjoyable experience both for the rowers as well as the spectators.
