The end of the year 2010 marks the end of this decade, being the first of the 21st Century. The 9/11 attacks were at the end of the first year of the decade and phrases that always incorporate the words ‘…or the terrorists will win” and “…. Will result in the end of the free world as we know it’ have been adopted into everyday language. An Old Roman Calendar: 2010 end of the first Decade of 21st Century Highlights; have the terrorists won? This was a clear example that the playing field for men and women is not yet level. The question here begs; would it be the end of the free world if women did wear leopard and pink? Prince Poppycock is a stage character on America’s Got Talent that quiet, plain-looking John Quayle adopted to give him confidence on stage. This boisterous stage persona is a cross between Cher, Lady Gaga and Liberace and is an important lesson on being aware of what we need to exude confidence. If this talent was not nurtured and encouraged, then indeed, the terrorists would have won. The Tillman story where Pat Tillman feature, is a true inspiration on quiet heroes who without their enlistment to services such as the NFL, might have been the end of the free world, as we know it. These highlights have a myriad of lessons to learn from in relation to our goals. Let us use 2011 to relive our goals and nourish our innermost values. Image Credit: |
