Hocus Pocus released in 1993 is a classic movie about 3 sisters and have been a most related movie with the Halloween festivities. The movie revolves around the Sanderson sisters who were a group of witches in Salem, Mass. Though it does not consist of any award winning performances but still the story effects the viewers in such a way making them feel like they have gone back to childhood again.
The cast of Hocus Pocus include Bette Midler who plays the role of the head witch Winifred Sanderson, Kathy Najimy as Mary and Sarah Jessica Parker before being famous as the “Sex and the City” star. Sarah plays the role of the boy crazy sister Sarah. The sterling performances of the stars have made it a memorable watch.
The story is based around Max Dennison, played by Omri Katz who is the new kid in school. He struggles to fit in and causes trouble on his way to win over the heart of the popular girl Allison, played by Vinessa Shaw while lighting the “black flame candle”. According to legends, the Sanderson sisters could be resurrected from their death beds if a virgin lights them.
This makes the sisters come to life who begin to suck the lives of children so that they can stay young and survive with the fuel available to them.
Hocus Pocus presents itself to be a very pleasurable experience with comedy attached with good music and horror, making it perfect for all ages to enjoy during the Halloween.
