Ronni Chasen, a 64-year old publicist in Hollywood was found slumped in her Mercedes near Sunset Boulevard with multiple shots in the chest. The incident occurred at around 12.30 am on Tuesday when neighbors say they heard gunshots and then found the car crashed into a light pole on Whittier Drive, just south of Sunset Boulevard. Ronni Chasen, Hollywood Publicist Shot Dead This was a well-used shortcut that she presumably used to get to her home in West Los Angeles. She was found struggling to breathe in the car but was pronounced dead on arrival at a hospital. Friends and colleagues of the publicist were at a loss to explain how anyone could possibly want the woman dead. Carol Connors, a long-time colleague stressed that Chasen was not the kind of person to make such enemies. Detectives have not yet identified suspects or established a definite motive. They are however open to the possibility of any motive such as a random attack, a carjacking gone wrong or even a hit. They confiscated computers from the victim’s company, Chasen and Co. but refused to give reasons for doing so. Chasen had been attending the Premiere of the movie, Burlesque in Hollywood before the incident occurred. |
