2010 Soccer World CupSouth Africa and France exited the World Cup after their match on June 22. South Africa is the first host team in World Cup history not to advance beyond the first round, despite their last victory.

South Africa gave everything to try and stay in their own FIFA World Cup, but in the end their great victory (2-1) with France was in vain. Bongani Khumalo and Katlego Mphela scored for South Africa and Florent Malouda for France.

France, the World Vice Champion will go home with no victory and the coach Raymond Domenech ended refusing to shake the hand of opposing coach Carlos Alberto Parreira. Four years ago Zinedine Zidane was the author of another ugly gesture in the last match with Italy but what Domenech did here was maybe the worst World Cup campaign ever staged by a major sporting nation.

Uruguay was the best team in the Group A and they confirms this beating Mexico 1-0. Luis Suarez scored in the 43rd minute but Mexico still qualify for the next round of the World Cup where will face Argentina.
