With the marijuana legalisation angle hotting up the California election result speculation, here is more dope on early election results 2010.

CBS News is projecting that in the Florida Senate race, it is Republican Marco Rubio who will sweep the stakes.

This is a hard-won victory for Marco Rubio, pipping Hendrick Meek, the democratic congressman and Charlie Crist to the post. Rubio fended off competition from candidated who had GOP-backing.

Tea Party favorite Marco Rubio is a hard-nosed fiscal conservative who wants to hark back to the Bush era with tax cuts for the filthy rich and a taxation leeway for corporations and capital gains. There was a mud-slinging match in the run up to the elections with attacks claiming that that Rubio has misused a whopping amount of campaign funds for personal use. Obviously he denied the allegations.

The Cuban American of 39 years has risen rapidly in Florida politics. Looks like Florida voters do not think much of the maligning allegations.

While Arkansas and Florida look set to be Republican power seats, it is being projected there is some cheer for the Democrats in Connecticut .Richard Blumenthal is set to win the grudge match with Linda McMahon. He was embroiled in a bitter spat with Republican Linda McMahon and now looks like he is on the way to winning the senate race. Blumenthal slurred McMahon in TV ads as a bad employer and fake attention-grabbing rights activist, and she hit back saying his Vietnam veteran claims were a hoax.
