Jason Garrett is the ad hoc coach set to replace Wade Phillips, and going by all accounts, he is set to face an uphill task. His approval ratings among the Cowboys is dipping as low as Obama’s and none of the players are too keen on him. Though there might not be a full scale revolt of the kind that was seen in the France World Cup 2010 debacle with an uprising against Raymond Domenech, many players like Cowboys quarterback Jon Kitna are opposed to the idea of offensive coordinator Jason Garrett as a stop-gap replacement for Wade Phillips. Many teammates of Jon Kitna were taken by surprise at the news of Jason Garrett stepping in. But Kitna said that Garrett may have the necessary tools in his arsenal to set the team back on track. Jason Garrett will have to hit the road running to met the requirements that are demanded of the head coach in the NFL. Calvin Watkins of Dallas ESPN said while discussing the event that the implications for Jerry Jones and company are many. Watkins said that Jason Garrett was the right man for the job with strong convictions and the ambition and vision needed to be a head coach. Jon Kitna said that he hopes the beleaguered team puts the miserable past four weeks behind them and gears up for a stunning turn-around. The queation is whether Jason Garrett can serve as the wake-up call the team needs. |
