President ObamaThe upcoming meeting of United States President Barack Obama and the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu is a step in the right direction. The two will be meeting on July 6th to discuss Gaza and the next steps to take. Obama has been accepting of the rules Israel has for the embargo of the land. Not all countries are though and that has led to some criticism floating around.

However, it is believed by most that the new polices will be able to offer a better quality of life for the people that live in Gaza. Israel is ready to allow for goods to be sent and received across Gaza. However, the embargo is still going to cover materials used to make weapons as well as actual weapons. The embargo has been in place after Israeli officers were attacked by a Turkish vessel at the end of May.

The efforts of President Obama are involved in offering a better framework so that the overall embargo can be replaced. Obama has extended the offer to help work with all parties that are involved to help the Gaza situation improve for all to benefit from. A great deal about policy and the next steps to take will be on the agenda when Obama and Netanyahu meet next month.
