Junior Seau, the former NFL line back crashed and was admitted to hospital but with no major injuries after he had been arrested on charges of domestic violence. Seau’s car Cadillac SUV was found in the early hours of Monday morning on the beach as he drove it off the cliff about 30 feet below the roadside as reported by the police authorities in Carlsbad, a place about 35 miles north of San Diego, California. The 12 time Pro Bowler was immediately rushed to Scripps La Jolla Hospital in San Diego. His condition was deemed to be steady and though he was a bit afraid of the situation he was lucky to have escaped with no major injury.
Before the car crash, Seau had been arrested on charges of domestic violence on his 25 year old live in girlfriend. She complained to the police she had been assaulted during a verbal spat with Seau. Though she suffered minor injuries, medical treatment was not required. He was arrested at 12:20 a.m. Monday and was released on bail at around 3:30 a.m. around five hours prior to the crash.
The causes which led to the crash have not yet been reported and investigations are on.
Seau had played for the San Diego Chargers, Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots before ending his long illustrious career at the end of last season. The retired star is a divorcee and a father of four children and heads a San Diego based non profit organisation.
