Kamala Harris set to be state attorney general?

If you have had it up to the eyes with election results, this will come as bad news. The race for attorney general will drag into a few more days as there are piles of absentee, provisional and damaged ballots to be accounted for and tallied. Initial results show that Democrat Kamala Harris is now ahead of Steve Cooley, the GOP contender for the top spot.

The final numbers will still take a while to come in, but the Kamala Harris camp was set to declared as the Cooley side was yet to concede, with a jousting never say die spirit. There was a leap overnight in votes that tilted the balance in favour of Kamala Harris. Steve Cooley is the district attorney for Los Angeles, and he tailed in the vote counts by a whisker, said reports from the Secretary of State’s Office in California.

The Steve Cooley campaign spokesperson said that it was early days yet to declare victory, and all that they could declare was staunch faith in an outcome that would favour the GOP candidate. Both sides say that the uncounted ballots will turn the tide in their favour.

Aides for Steve Cooley said that there are a massive 400,000 uncounted ballots, and that too just in the Los Angeles County. They are hoping that results from LA county will bolster their prospects.

Counties are given 28 days to finish ballot counting said spokeswoman Nicole Winger, so it is groan time for those awaiting quick results.
