A Laser pointer has sent a teenager to a 15 months jail term. Nathan Ramon Wells who is 19 years saw a police chopper from California & decided to point the laser to it. But he did not know that this laser pointing incident would put him in prison.

A 15 months jail term at the federal prison is what Wells is now facing after he pointed the laser at the chopper which was in the process of investigating a certain burglary incident.

Nathan was inside his car in the City of Cathedral, California pointing a green laser at some cops. That incident moved the police crew from the investigation, though he was seen by the pilot. He got arrested after police officers got that laser pointer inside Wells’ car.

Nathan will be on a supervised release for a period of three years when he is done with the jail sentence.

Though many people see the punishment as being very harsh for this crime pilots claim that pointing the laser pointer towards aircrafts is very serious, but many teenagers don’t know this until it is very late.
