Candidates in the Tuesday election are making their major final push towards winning votes as the last of campaigns hit home for the congressional midterm elections.

The Democrats are widely expected to part with their majority within the House of Representatives, while having problems with keeping the Senate.

Candidates Final Push

President Barrack Obama is known to have refrained from campaign trails and spending his time before the elections in meetings in the White House.

On the other hand, the republicans are hoping to capitalize heavily on the discontent of the electorate concerning the economy.

Going to the midterm election on November 2 are all the 435 seats in the House, Senates 37 out of 100, 37 governorship seats out of 50 states and apart from 4, all the other state legislatures.

Currently, the Republican Party is after gaining 39 crucial House seats so that it can win back the control of the Congress’ lower chamber, something that opinion polls have been suggesting an easy affair, as well as about 10 that they can use to control the senate.

However, the Democrats are praying to retain the Senate by about a seat or two.
In addition, voters have the chance to use the ballot to make key decisions in measures such as the legalization of Marijuana within California to the Oklahoma referendum that seeks to stop judges from the use of Sharia Islamic law within their rulings.

Mr. Obama wrapped up his final series of speeches and rallies on Sunday, after campaigning in Ohio, a major battleground state.
