Lee Majors: The Millionaire

He is a renowned television actor who rocked the television during the 60’s and 70’s. Major’s original name is Harvey Lee Yeary. He was born in 1939 in Detroit, Michigan. Majors came into recognition after he portrayed the character of Heath Barkley in a popular television series the “Big Valley. He had ousted a huge number of budding actors including Burt Reynolds to earn his big break.

Major gained super stardom after bagging the role of Colonel Steve Austin in the television film “The six million dollar man” which was aired on ABC. The program turned out to be a huge hit and the television company decided to run it as a weekly series. The series was so popular that it was telecast in more than seventy nations worldwide. Majors not only gained super stardom, but he was regarded as a great pop icon.

What brings major to the headlines this Thanksgiving is that his most successful work “The six million dollar man” will now be available in a set of 40 DVD’s. It will indeed be a huge demand this festive season. Another surprise for Major fans is that he will be making a guest appearance in the “Oprah Winfrey show”, which is aired on weekdays at 4 p.m.  on WFTV channel 9. Majors will be attending the show hosted by Carson Kressley, who will be reporting on “bride Wars”.

Fez Whatley, a dedicated Lee majors fan and a host of the “Ron and Fez show” has gone on record saying Majors is the top television action star of all times, beating popular characters like A-Team, Batman and Hulk.
