The launch of a small dolls house charity exhibition this month will bring life of Newton Abbot’s chemist life to a miniature.

A Dolls House

The recreation Trust Hall in Marsh Road, Newton Abbot will give specialists and collectors the much-needed space to display their collections.

The South Devon Dolls House and Miniatures Club organized exhibition will have many of doll house lovers’ display their skills and artistry.

The collections from the exhibition will be donated to the Macmillan Cancer support.
Now celebrating its 20th birthday, the Club has had Tony and Joyce Butler, of Paignton for 14 years there as members.

Mr. Butler who is a retired toolmaker said the exhibition was to have a very festive atmosphere and could not wait for it adding that the centre piece would be a village of shops and houses contributed by all members.

On top of that, it would have Christmas scenes, large department store, canal boats, gypsy caravans and a great deal most including a replica of historic Newton Abbot Chemist JH Bibbing and Son Ltd with all items lighting up internally.

In addition, some stalls would be selling Christmas prizes at affordable prices.

Mrs. Butler, treated of cancer last year added that one of the objectives of the exhibition was to encourage creation of miniatures, as it was very social at the practice of craft together with the men constructing the buildings as they concentrated on the interior.

The exhibition will be going down on Saturday November 13th from 10:00am to 4pm.
The Macmillan fund raising manager, Calvin Lovelock, praised Butler’s fascinating home, as it has many miniatures, and requested people to have a different experience while shopping for Christmas gifts while still helping the needy (those affected by cancer).
