Just like an iPad, the Macbook Air has no hard drive where reliance will be heavily on flash memory.
Steve Jobs, the Apple Boss said that the product was nothing they have ever made before, and somehow see the Air as the next big thing in MacBooks. He also thought all notebooks could look exactly like that in the future, while saying their inspiration comes from some work they have carried out on iOS, something they want to return to the Mac.

Analysts of the new product see the product as clear signal by Apple, reminding everyone that Apple still is at the heart of PC business.

The new Air MacBook has a thickness of 0.11 on the part that it’s thinnest. The company also said the product has a battery life that is so long as to allow individuals to browse the internet for around seven hours. In case the battery is used on standby mode, the company says it could last a month.

The product models begin at about $999 while shipping has also begun. At the same time, Apple has unveiled another novel version of operating system known as Lion, for Macintosh, which will hit the market next summer.
