And Sasha Vujacic seems to be breaking them.
Maria Sharapova is going to get married. The hot tennis diva got engaged to her boyfriend Sasha Vujacic. This news was confirmed by her agent on Thursday to CNBC.
Sasha Vujacic, 26, is a basketball star who plays for the L.A. Lakers. He is a Slovenian of Serbian descent also known as “The Machine”. He proposed to the Russian born 23 year old three time Grand Slam champion Sharapova on Tuesday at his home in Manhattan Beach, Calif as reported by Yahoo’s tennis blog. Sharapova, besides being a former world no.1, is also busily involved in a number of other activities like modelling. Her various endorsement assignments include Nike, Canon, Prince and others. Besides winning three Grand Slams, Wimbledon in 2004, US Open in 2006 and Australian Open in 2008, Sharapova has also won 22 singles titles and three doubles titles.
The couple was seen going out together for the first time last November at Los Angeles at a U2 concert. Sharapova even joined her heart throb to spend a romantic vacation with him in Italy. Before that she joined him at IMG Academy in Florida over the summer.
Vujacic, born in Slovenia was heard saying in August to be helping each other in their respective sports. He expressed his happiness in being with each other, together. The pair seemed to understand each other’s requirement and what they needed to do to achieve success in their respective fields.
No announcements regarding the wedding dates have been made.
