The famous McDonalds’ McRib Sandwich is returning to stores and will be sold again at McDonald’s outlets across the United States from November 2, 2010.

The McRib sandwich consists of boneless pork presented in the form of a rib slab and is decorated with onions, different types of pickles and barbecue sauce all together integrated on a bun.

The McRib sandwich was first introduced in 1981 and became an instant hit across the country. However, it was available in only a few selected outlets at a particular time and vanished from the menu list after a while. It was never sold all at once throughout the country. It became so rare people had to travel for long periods of time to get their hands on the elusive sandwich. Thus a website named “McRib Locator” was created by a fan to keep a trace of the locations that were currently selling the product.

The McRib sandwich has been in and out of the McDonalds’ menu list quite a number of times. Since its introduction in 1981, the sandwich used to vanish from a certain location after a few weeks of sales. In 2007 and 2008, the sandwich had farewell tours but even at that time it was not available at all stores nationwide.

However, the return of McRib on November 2 brings with it some good news too. This time it is planned to be sold at all McDonalds outlets across the country. Thus the need of a McRib Locator is over with people not needing to worry about the locations where it is being sold.
