If you are a believer in second chances, then you are likely behind Michael Vick and his return to the NFL. The star has been in the spotlight since he was accused of dog fighting involvement. He was convicted and served his prison sentence. The NFL has agreed to re-instate him but he still has plenty to prove. Many are surprised that Vick is going to be the starting quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles. It is speculated that will be a temporary position though until their original starter, Kevin Kolb, is able to be medically cleared to play again. Yet Vick is excited about the opportunity and ready to put the past behind him. He freely talks in interviews about his past and accepts responsibility for it. Yet he doesn’t want to be remembered for that. Instead, he wants to be remembered as a great player in the NFL. There are rumors that he won’t be continuing his career with the Eagles for much longer. Instead, he will be traded to another team. There aren’t any concrete offers on the table though that have been identified. Vick seems to be in the best shape of his career – both physically and mentally – and that is going to be key to him doing well in the NFL. Vick readily admits that with everything that has happened in his life, he has his priorities straight now. He family and the love of the game of football are what he focuses on and appreciates every single day. |
