DVD movie collectionEven though it is considered a controversial move, the Federal government of the USA has made it possible for investors to negotiate offers that will affect the success or failure at the box office. This is going to be in regards to all Hollywood releases which is why the major studios are against it. In spite of that the vote was won 3 to 2. Now professional traders will be able to bet on ticket sales that a particular movie is going to be associated with during the weekend it is released.

Veriana is the company that is leading this process, and they also have the backing of the Commodity Futures Trading commission. The method for exchanges on this entity will be called Trend Exchange. The biggest argument though comes from the Motion Picture Association of America. They feel this process could result in betting reducing people from going to see particular movies.

However, Veriana states that the goal here isn’t to manipulate the economy or to be involved with any types of hedging scenarios. Instead, they feel it will be a way for many to benefit from the investments in the film industry. It will also encourage risky movie endeavors to be reduced on the financial end of things. The minimum bid is $5,000 and only time will tell how this affects the box office overall.
