Nancy Pelosi victor in California, John Boehner to be speaker

Republicans banking on the liberal ethic of California voters bit off more than they could chew after Prop 19 was given a thumbs down. Nancy Pelosi beat out the Brian Bellsten camp, but will have to hand over the baton as speaker to John Boehner, given the tea party mood as Republicans took over the House.

Nancy Pelosi is a powerpuff woman in politics, who was the first ever woman speaker in the House and has now extended her stay in office. Whether she will opt to stay or not is questionable , as she will lose the position of the majority leader as the GOP wrested the reins of the House of Representatives. After the ouster of Pelosi as Speaker, erstwhile Minority leader of the House John Boehner is set to take over the position.

The healthcare reform policy proved to be the proverbial albatross around the neck as the push made Nancy Pelosi ’s views and agenda unpopular. She pushed for passing the reform in the house even as there was no consensus among Americans regarding the policy.

Congresswoman Pelosi was quiet on the gambling view after snorting pot and gambling were equated. Boehner hails from an Ohio district and got emotional and blubbery while giving the victory speech. It remains to be seen whether mover and shaker Nancy Pelosi accepts the hard-won office term after relinquishing the position of Speaker. She made light of the low ratings given her to stage a victory.
