National Bosses Day 2010 is going to be celebrated today and plenty of employers are confused of how to behave with their bosses on this day. Usually 16th October is celebrated as National Bosses Day or National Boss’s Day (spelt differently by different people), but this year that being a weekend will be celebrated a day before. While some employees have been making plans to treat their bosses with care, others are too disgusted with them to even celebrate this day. Cards, gifts and even balloons are often used to celebrate this day by employees to acknowledge their bosses. However, the recent economic condition will greatly influence the celebration on this day. The recent recession in financial markets is sure to create disturbances in the relationship between the workers and their boss. Hence the effect of recession on the Bosses Day comes as a shock. About 45 % of workers in the U.S. think that their relationship with their boss had been soured due to the recession. The Bosses Day survey further showed that about 34% employees were not satisfied with the relationship with their boss. Bosses Day 2010 on 15th October will mark the 52nd anniversary of the event which started in 1958. It started when Patricia Bays Haroski registered 16th October with the Chamber Of Commerce of the United States as National Bosses Day ( more accurately as National Boss Day). She chose this day to commemorate her father’s birthday which she used to forget. Her father was her boss at that time. |
