New After Dark VIP Tour for Eastern State Penitentiary, America’s Number 1 Haunted Attraction and Most Historic Prison

In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, there is a Penitentiary called Eastern State and is located at Fairmount Avenue and 22nd Street. It is a real, abandoned prison that has been turned into a haunted house.  This will be its nineteenth year and is now the number one haunted house in America according to AOL. It will open on September 17th and run through November 6th, 2010.

Terror Behind the Walls is located inside the walls of the prison and for the first time ever, VIP tours will be conducted. Known for the prison’s dramatic architecture and history throughout the world, the “Eastern State After Dark VIP Tour” will give rare night time tours. The visitors will also will receive tickets to Terror Behind the Walls.

The tour will be an hour long and flashlights will be used for the guided walking tour. Visitors will see the cellblocks, Al Capone’s cell, Death Row, and Cellblock 14. Those were isolation cells. Then with the Terror passes they will be put at the front of the line to the haunted house. There will also be a photo taken inside the prison for a souvenir and a LED flashlight. Groups are limited to fifteen people at a time and the price is $99 per person and must be purchased in advance at .

The haunted prison has five haunted attractions: The Experiment in 3D, Lock Down, Intake, Night Watch, and Infirmary. It takes two hundred performers to produce this theatrical production every night and almost three just to get ready to perform
