The new Gap logo has turned out to be a big flop and this has led the company to reconsider their decision and return back to their traditional older logo. This development came within one week of the unveiling of the new design and the famous store had to make an announcement via Face book that they were going back to the traditional logo and the classic mode was the best way fitted for it. The unveiling of the new logo brought about a huge amount of wrath from the general audience online which gave a message to Gap which then decide to change the new but not so innovative and designed logo. The older classic traditional logo contained the name of the popular store in an iconic blue box. However, the new logo had changed by moving the blue box to a side and also changed the face look of it. Many online criticisms followed suggesting that the new logo looked much like of a telecom company. Thus the online criticism through blog posts and Face book on Gap’s page and also in some communities of design and font led them to realise and admit their mistake and revert their logo back to their older and more liked one. Even the company spokesperson Louise Callagy and Gap brand president in North America both admitted that they had not been following the right path in bringing about a change in their logo and so that led them to revert back to the more favoured and popular iconic blue box logo. |
