New Security in Airports Causing a Stir

Airport security has just gone a notch higher. The measure includes all the personnel, pilots and passengers included, going through the scanners. The technology is so advanced that no body part will pass unseen, private body parts included. Hiding of weapons is simply no more.

Body Scanning Causing a Stir

The move has attracted some controversy with the pilot unions saying the technology is not made for them. It is just not right and makes completely no sense to the pilot as they are subjected to the same process and procedure at least two times a day.

The technology uses Advanced Imaging Technology (AIT) and the pilots are complaining that the exposure to the radiation is not good to their health and has seen the pilots body ask for a another technology to be used to scan their members. They are not opposed to the scanning but to the methods used.

Despite the fact that most of the union leaders are up in arms on the technology used, the Homeland Security say the radiation levels are safe and secure for the persons exposed to them as they are almost negligible to harm any one. They are not as huge as feared to be.

The unions are asking for a better way as the members are just not ready to be exposed to unfair methods of scanning and be done in a private area.

The pilots are to have their grievances addressed in due time as they are not to be treated like passengers and matters are to be settled for the good.
