Kristen Lee, the wife of Cliff Lee, the dominating pitcher of the Texas Rangers, was humiliated by the NY Yankees fans while sitting in the visitor’s wives section of Yankee Stadium, as her husband having a good time in the field chocking the Yankees (allowing only two hits in eight innings of work at Yankee Stadium in game three.)
According to ESPN.com, the fans have been hurling insults, throwing beer and spitting in her directions throughout the game.
Now many are thinking whether this mindless act of the Yankee fans damaged New York’s chances of landing the prized free agent pitcher this offseason.
Though Lee’s agent, Darek Braunecker, told ESPNNewYork.com that Kristen has got nothing personal, and she enjoys NY as any other, the pitcher’s wife seems to have decided not to take up his tune and concluded that its not hard to take things personal when people stared at her and hurled a wave of slangs.
Seattle Mariners hope general manager Jack Zduriencik will be able to lure the free agent back to Seattle, and AL West rival Texas would also try to keep him in their hood, if they can afford him of course. After his transfer to the Rangers this summer, Lee dominated the play-offs racking up three wins and a K/BB ratio of 34-1. With his pinpoint control and his command over the ball, Lee has no shortage of landing spots this off-season, and a mammoth payday to boot.
