Nuvi Recalled Due to Faulty Garmin Parts

![]() GARMIN The GPS manufacturing company Garmin Recalled their newly launched GPS navigation units called ‘Nuvi’ due to potential future hazard in the battery among the Garmin Parts. These GPS devices was launched recently by them and has already been sold over 1.2 million of unit of which 80,000 were in US alone for Garmin being one of the top GPS manufacturers in both handheld and car GPS devices. The reason of this recall is the faulty battery among the Garmin Parts that could cause fire being overheated while using the device for a longer period of time. The battery was supplied by a third party manufacturer who assembled their battery with PCB and other Garmin parts of these Nuvi devices. The models that has potential thread of overheating are 200W, 250W, 260W and all 7 series Nuvi devices that has battery from same manufacturer. To replace any model from the above listing, the user has to enter serial number in Garmin Part Recall Site and they will be instructed how to replace parts of their device free of cost. Garmin is not replacing the entire device or the battery itself but adding a safety measure in the space between the battery & the PCB of the Nuvi device. Although they have detected the problem quickly and taking necessary actions to ensure safety, this incident may bring arm in their future sales graph. Image Credit: |
