Obama Pressured on Account of Gay Military Ban

A debate has put the Obama administration in an awkward position ahead of the congressional election. The Republicans are expected to make big gains, as they are largely in favor of the ban.

President Obama insists in support of the end of the ban even though he has received strong backing from gay rights activists in the 2008 election.

His administration feels that, it is up to Congress, rather than the courts to impose the ban; stating the military needs to carry out their own investigations and find ways to serve homosexuals in a structured and organized way.
