President Obama

In an interview about two months ago, President Obama said the United States was in a position to ‘absorb’ a future terrorism attack. This was after his advisers warned of an imminent attack on US soil.

The comment by the president was included in Bob Woodward’s new book, “Obama’s Wars”. The book shows the length the Obama presidency went in designing a new Afghanistan strategy, with the president reported to have pressed for a workable exit strategy rather than escalate or prolong the war.

While not ignoring the imminent danger facing the United States, he was confident the country was ready for any eventuality. “We will do everything we can to prevent it,” the president reportedly said, “we absorbed it (9/11) and we are stronger.” The book reported that a part from Obama terror attack response he had pressed his administration’s advisers on ways of preventing the Afghanistan war from escalating. Amidst the president rejection of the alternative plan according to the book, he agreed to a withdrawal timeline so as not to “lose the whole Democratic Party.”

The fact that the country is ready to deal with any terrorist attack on US soil as reported by Obama terror attack response was a relief for many. Innocent lives were lost while building their nation in their thousands, putting the Nation’s Security agents in higher alert to date.
