Obama to Attend Groundbreaking where Electric Vehicle Batteries will be made

![]() PRESIDENT OBAMA & CLEAN ENERGY President Obama will be in attendance for the groundbreaking ceremony in Holland, Michigan. The Compact Power Inc. factory will be creating electric vehicle batteries. They have been approved for a grant of $151 million to make them. More than 300 people will gain jobs due to this endeavor. They will create an electric vehicle battery to be used for the Ford Focus and Chevrolet Volt vehicles. The Recovery Act is responsible for making this happen. It is well noted that the Republicans criticized the $862 billion stimulus, but that it was necessary for such industries to be created. President Obama stands by his decision to offer the economic stimulus package. Last week he was in both Missouri and Nevada. The agenda including talking about the use of battery driven trucks as well as tax incentives for cleaner manufacturing efforts. The use of electric vehicle batteries may be a step in the right direction for us to break free from oil imports of other countries. It is also a method for our country to create jobs and to get back on its feet. The rewards of the stimulus program are numerous. However, the unemployment rates still are very high and that is a grime reality. However, it is hopeful that more can be done to help reduce it. Image Credit: |
