Last night was the occasion for fall back time change for 2010. Now that ‘Daylight Saving Time’ (DST) is over, turn your clocks back by an hour if you have not done so last night. The Official Time has to be readjusted to allow for DST. DST or ‘Daylight Saving Time’ may have its share of detractors who think it is too much of a bother, bit it is a an energy conservation ritual that s great for the health too, as clocks are put fast forward by an hour when spring arrives, so that afternoons have a fair amount of daylight, with an hour of natural light stolen from the mornings. This time is given back when fall approaches, hence the 1 hour turning back of time to get the official measure for US and Canada residents. With Daylight Savings time 2010 bidding goodbye, the mornings will often be dark as you grope your way through the dimness to reach your work destination. If you have one, that is, given the record unemployment levels. The long warm nights are a thing of the past as temperatures will get nippy. The way to get some Vitamin D and beat depression is to catch up on sunlight missed on mornings by going for a short outdoor walk when it is lunch hour. If you are still fretting over the time adjustment nuances, just remember the easy idiotproof mantra “spring forward, fall behind.” |
