Ondrej Pavelec lost consciousness and alarmingly collapsed on the ice during the season opener game of the Thrashers. Team officials said that the 23 year old Pavelec was immediately rushed to an undisclosed local hospital for a health report and detailed evaluation. Sources close to Pavelec have said that he has regained consciousness and nothing critical has come to the fore so far. Pavelec collapsed on the ice and there appeared to be no significant contact with another player, since the action was going on at exactly the other end. It was just two minutes into the game when the goaltender fell. Medical personnel were there in a jiffy to aid Pavelec on to a stretcher.
