Solutions for Palestinian Conflict?

SOLUTIONS FOR PALESTINIAN CONFLICT?

Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian leader, Mahmoud Abbas have finally agreed to negotiate and find a solution for the Palestinian conflict in the next 12 months. They hope that this will have Palestine living with each Israel and their neighbors in security and peace as being independent, viable, and democratic. They will be meeting at the White House in Washington, D.C. to discuss the proposal.

The nonviolence movement is making headlines world wide, but in the Middle East it is extremely rare to hear about this. Is it possible to find a solution for the Palestinian conflict after so many years of violence? Can the cycle be broken in the Middle East?

The most advertised reason for the Palestinian conflict is back in the 1960’s, but the real roots of the problems are much deeper. After the historical Six Day War, there is an ongoing dispute for the Gaza Strip.

In 2005, Israel disengaged from the Gaza Strip, demanding the end of the terrorism in their country. Even with so called peace talks and treaties, nothing still has been resolved with the Palestinian conflict due to the terrible violence that has been going on between both nations, not only inside their borders, but worldwide.
