Silent auctionA very rare and interesting collection of 46 British Prime Ministers in photos have been sold at a recent auction. One of these photos dates back to 1721 so this is a very interesting collection. There are various signatures of the collection too. Among them are Winston Churchill, Margaret Thatcher and the only Prime Minister to be assassinated, Spencer Perceval.

With the 1721 photo being of Sir Robert Walpole who was the first Prime Minister of Britain, the collection of photographs sold for £1,700. In this collection were many clipped signatures from documents, letters, and signed photos. It is believed that this auction group of photos is missing about ten pictures, they were sold to a previous buyer some time ago.

There is a great deal of history to be found in the photos of these Prime Ministers. It is a great way for a large piece of history to be collected and preserved. While there are many photos of these era that seem to circulate, this is the first time such a large group of them have been auctioned off at one time.
