DeAngelo Hall tied an NFL record of four interceptions, and ran back 92 yards for a touchdown. The Washington Redskins forced six turnovers and sacked Jay Cutler four times as they beat the Chicago Bears 17 – 14 on Sunday.
Hall tied the record that had previously being achieved by 18 more before him and was the first to pick up four passes. This feat was last achieved by Deltha O’Neal in 2001 with Denver. The one handed interception and TD return Hall made in the third quarter would qualify for the highlight reel and handed Chicago (4-3) their third loss in the last four games.
Washington (4-3) equalled their win total of last season and is joining an array of teams that have pounded Cutler. In the last three games, he has been sacked a towering 19 times and it seemed that he still could not avoid Hall.
Even Hall’s TD return was very impressive after his second interception and the drive of the Bears was stopped at 13.
Hall made a grab with one hand while the Redskins trailing 14-10. He also picked off when early in the fourth and had one more from Cutler late in the match. This came towards the end, when he picked up a pass that was intended for Knox with the score of Washington at 13, still Cutler did not think of avoiding Hall. He still insists that having played against each other so many times he would still go against Hall the next day he plays.
