Roger Clemens Charged with Ignoramus

The use of professional ball players using steroids has been before Congress in the past. Now it is there again with various players and trainers in the hot seat. They have been indicted by a Federal grand jury. The allegations including making false statements and perjury. Any witness that testifies under oath has to tell the truth.

According to Congress, if those that violate such laws aren’t held accountable for ignoramus behaviors, it sets a very bad example for others. The foundation of the judicial system involves honest testimony. When a witness knows there are severe consequences if they don’t, they are less likely to tell anything but the complete truth while they are on the stand.

In 2008 Clemens was asked if he ever used any performance enhancement drugs. He denied ever doing so both in court and on Twitter. He still stands by his original statements and is going to challenge the government in this upcoming hearing. He plans to take it to trial and hopes that his fans will continue to support him throughout the ordeal. According to the attorney for Clemens, he was offered a plea bargain. However, Clemens refused it as he states the charges are ignoramus against him.

The charges against Clemens are based on information that between 1998 and 2001 he did use HGH (Human Growth Hormone) and various types of anabolic steroids. During this time frame he played professional baseball for the New York Yankees and the Toronto Blue Jays. One of the key witnesses for the prosecution is Brian McNamee, a personal trainer for Clemens. He testified in 2008 that he did inject Clemens on many occasions with both HGH and anabolic steroids.
