A candidate for the U.S. Senate from Nevada, Sharron Angle, has been reported as telling a big number of Hispanic students from the local high school that some of them appear a little Asian to her, last week. Angle induced remarks that raised eyebrows, one of the latest controversial ones she has uttered on her campaign trail. Harry Reid: Sharon Angle Battling Him for Nevada Angle is a republican contender against Harry Reid, the Senate Majority Leader. She met the group of students on Friday at a high school in Las Vegas after some students had been angered by her anti-illegal immigrant campaign messages. In a recorded video of the meeting that was privately organized, the republican candidate seems to defend a number of advertisements on her campaigns that seem to lean mostly on images of a score of dark-skinned males. The candidate, a white female makes the claim that she hardly knew the individuals within the spots on TV happened to be Hispanic, claiming that it is quite hard to obviously pinpoint the race of a person. She claims in the video that she hardly realizes they are all Latino, with some of them appearing to be “a little more Asian” to her. The students she is talking to responds with whispers and a lot of gasps. Hispanic leaders from the area have blasted the republican candidate’s immigration stances. Image Credit: |
