Early Friday, the Safety Commission announced a recall warning parents not to use the glasses. The burger giant stated they would give instructions on how to get a refund sometime next week on their website. The glasses were sold at $2 each to promote the fourth installment of the movie franchise. The glasses were 16 oz and depicted the characters, Princess Fiona, Shrek, Donkey, and Puss in Boots. The Safety Commission is noting in their recall that exposure to cadmium after a long period of time could cause harmful affects to ones health. Cadmium is a carcinogen which can cause kidney problems and softening of the bones. Here, in this case, the danger would be exposure to the Cadmium leaching from the paint to your child’s unwashed hands and then placing them in their mouth. Image Credit: |
