A report released today by the US government, shows that America is in for a fight of her life when comes to every American, especially kids as young as twelve years old on the issue of drug addiction and abuse.

This report shows that America is having an epidemic and it is one of the worst the country has ever seen. Drugs are now destroying millions of families each year along with 500,000 deaths that are just from drug overdosing or abuse. It is now the number disease in America when drug addiction and abuse is combined.

With this report, there is starting to be some finger pointing. But, political leaders, Democrats and Republicans both, are saying we must work together. Along with parents, schools, churches, health professionals, the media, and even the President of the United States, needs to get involved and help out communities and families.

Teaching is key, it shows how to prevent going down the wrong path and how extremely addictive some drugs are. When the war was brought on AIDS, things changed. Americans were educated, things were brought out into the light that no one ever talked about, and the problems were dealt with.

The same concept needs to be used to get control of the situation. The findings in the report are staggering. There will be more lives lost and destroyed with death, illness, and tragedy if intervention is not done soon.
