The Greatest Royal Wedding of this Century

Enhanced PrincessIn noble and excitement fanfare, last Saturday Sweden’s Princess Victoria married commoner Daniel Westling in the greatest royal wedding since Charles and Diana. The radiant 32-year-old daughter of King Carl Gustav and Queen Silvia walked down the aisle on the arm of the king. More than 1,100 guests were present in the church at the Sweden’s first royal wedding since 1976 and more than 500 were invited to the Royal Castle for the dinner.

Several crowned heads of Europe was invited by the Swedish Royal Family for their daughter’s marriage. More than 200,000 people waited on the city’s pavements, along with about 500,000 people who lined the streets to watch their Princess and the new Prince. An estimated 500 million people around the world watched the event on TV.

The Princess first met Daniel Westling at his gym Master Training in Stockholm where she was recovering after some health problems. Their relationship survived, despite her father’s anger, who finally capitulated. A team of courtiers were employed to educate the future prince in royal etiquette. He learned more European languages and politics, becoming a polished public performer.

The last female regent was Ulrika Eleonora, who reigned 1719-1720 and Princess Victoria is the first in line to become the next one and the fourth ever. As Princess Victoria’s husband, Mr. Daniel Westling has received the title of Prince Daniel, Duke of Vastergotland.
