World Cup 2010: Netherlands vs Uruguay

Tuesday’s Netherlands victory sends the orange soccer jerseys machine of to the World Cup final for the first time since 1978. Netherlands 3-2 Uruguay and the blue tee shirts will fight Saturday for the bronze medals. Netherlands lost in the title game to host West Germany in 1974 and host Argentina in 1978. After thirty two years they have a better chance to win the title, facing Spain, which advanced to their first-ever final spot after they won 1-0 with three-time World Cup champion Germany.

Netherlands and Spain are two of the most accurate and attractive passing teams, each seeking their first title in the sport’s most coveted trophy Sunday at Johannesburg’s Soccer City Stadium.
Only seven countries joined the pantheon of World Cup winners until now, but for the first time since 1978, we are guaranteed to see a new team winning the trophy on Sunday.

Spanish World Cup history is filled with disappointment, but it is the reigning European champion in this moment and it started the competition like a favorite. They lost the first match with Switzerland while the orange soccer jerseys machine have won six games in a row in South Africa after eight in qualifying.

Spain or the Netherlands? Hard to say, but the answer will come very soon. Howard Webb, Darren Cann and Michael Mullarkey of England will referee the World Cup final. The former police officer and his partners had been widely praised for their handling of the Slovakia – Italy and Brazil – Chile matches.
