TONY ROMO DOWN WITH CLAVICLE FRACTURE: JON KITNA REPLACES

The Cowboys were dealt a heavy blow when their quarterback Tony Romo was seen sprawling on the ground after he fractured his clavicle. This came at a time when the Cowboys were trailing 1 – 4 and were looking for a revival. The injury led the 92,000 people to a collective groan and almost ended all chances of a Cowboys win.
Michael Boley, the Giants linebacker ran in full steam and charged on to Romo early in the second quarter. Then he reached there without being touched and thereby completed a comeback curl of 14 yards to Miles Austin.
The collision proved to be too hard for Romo and his shoulder was drilled to the ground by Boley. Boley claimed it was a part of their package. This package seemed to prove too costly for Romo and the Cowboys. This would create immense pressure on the Dallas Cowboys who have gathered just one win with Romo. It now seems an uphill task for them to win more with Jon Kitna, the backup for Romo and the much unknown Stephen McGee, the backup’s backup.
Romo might not choose to have surgery but nonetheless, he is likely to be out for six to eight weeks of this season. However, the fortunate thing about his injury is that its his left shoulder which is not the arm with which he throws.
But, with Romo almost out for this season, the fate of the Cowboys seems to be very discouraging and a good position in the league looks like a distant possibility.
