toyotaAkio Toyoda, the Toyota’s CEO just appeared ahead of Congress apologizing for his corporation’s car safety troubles that have brought injuries and even deaths. During the last couple of months, his company has recalled over 8,500,000 vehicles globally. Experts are examining different issues that created damages in the last months.

It looks like some of the problems were not correctly communicated inside the corporation. Many customers consider that the real problem is the electronic throttle system but the company declines that. Some customers highlighted their experience, and they believe the electronics are flawed. One of the drivers stated: “My car suddenly accelerated to ninety miles per hour on a mountain highway. Thankfully, no one was killed, but we are still emotionally traumatized.”

Unfortunately in other cases more people died in similar situations and their relatives are attempting to discover the true cause. In the mean time you may want to know what to do if your car suddenly accelerates. For the best result you need to follow the next steps:

- Brake very firmly. Pumping the brakes is a bad idea.

- Do not turn off your engine. Doing this you will take the power of your car’s brakes.

- Change the transmission into neutral position. This is extremely important!

- Find a secure place and stop the car.

- Turn off the engine but keeping the transmission in neutral position.

- Set on the emergency brake.

- Ask for assistance. Do not drive the vehicle before.

You may need also to speak with a qualified personal injury attorney.
