After the recent news of so many recalls, its time for car giants Toyota to recall its cars. This time, around 1.53 million cars are being recalled worldwide after problems had been detected in the braking mechanism of these cars.
Different regions had the recall divided among them like from Japan over 600,000 models were being recalled. The list of cars being recalled, include Mark X, Toyota Crown, Lexus IS, Highlander, Avalon and Lexus RX. A Japan based company, Toyota City have also recalled close to 5.4 million autos this year. The European car markets are also likely to be affected because of this recall, with countries like U.K., Germany and Russia likely to have an effect. Around 15,408 vehicles have been recalled because of the cylinder problem in the U.K.
There have not been any accidents that were reported however, there are problems that have been detected in the fuel pump wires and brake master cylinders. Concerns regarding leaking of brake fluid from the master cylinders also cannot be dismissed. Use of the wrong variety of brake fluid is also responsible for these problems which give a “spongy” feeling in the brakes. At least 14 cases of fluid leaking had been reported in the U.S. however, none of them have led to any accident or injury.
All Toyota users who are using the above models and have the car version within the period of 2003-2006 are requested to contact Toyota for further details. Any more information can be obtained from the official press release by Toyota.
