Things could not have been much worse for giants just after losing a play off place. The teams leading receiver Hakeem Nicks is down with an injury and will be out for up to three weeks.

Hakeem Nicks Injured

Having got the injury on Sunday he was sent to hospital to undergo a Surgery in New York City and doctors are talking fasciotomy, to have pressure relieved from his nerves and blood vessels.

If the injury is not taken care of it’s career threatening. The swelling is cut to relieve the pressure.

This has devastating effect on the team as he is their best player. He did not even know when he got injured but it is thought to be in be the third quarter.

Injuries have been the order of the day for the team in recent days and have affected their best performers. Steve Smith (record caches) Ramses Barden and Victor Cruz (rookie) have all been injured in the last three weeks.

The team has to turn to some veterans and rookies to see the season through before the pros start returning in early December. The young stars need to up their game.

Nick could be out for the season depending on the extent of the injury. The team has to make some makeshift receivers and fill the void left.

Injuries are part of the game and thus they cannot rely on them for failure of wining the title; they simply failed to stop turnovers, especially against Philadelphia where they had five of them.

The team now has to win a few games and all will be ok. The win will lead the team back to winning ways.
