Trick or treat time

With the anticipation around Halloween reaching fever pitch, kids will finally go trick or treating this Sunday. After labouring away with pumpkin carving stencils, word searches and more, it is now binge time for children, with sacks of free candy treats coming their way.

Though Halloween falling on a Sunday means turning up at school on the very next mad Monday, the trick or treat gang is not letting this be a party pooper.

If you are the Uncle Scrooge variety or someone who would rather party it up at a casino, turn off the lights as an indicator that you are participating in festivities this year. But this might not thwart some kids from your doorstep all night long.

Advisories for parents say that in all but neighborhoods where you know everyone for decades, it is a good idea for an adult to watch out for every trick or treat gang’s safety. Kids looking for a pillow case full of tempting candy are vulnerable to predatory strangers, at whose doors they may unknowingly knock at. To prevent misadventures, it is best for parents to form a vigilance community for a radar on their kid’s safety.

Stock up on a large array of treats to make sure little hags with brooms and zombies do not return disappointed from your door, or put a trick curse on you. Christian Life is organising a Trick or Treat Alternative Carnival, with a timing of 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m in Vista, where entry is free. It’s time to go trick or treating in spooky and bizarrely funsome costumes .
