![]() MEMORY PROBLEMS A study conducted by the University of Oxford has revealed that if elderly people can take high dose of Vitamin B on a daily basis, it can reduce their brain shrinkage to a great extent. Doctors have revealed that among the elderly people, there is a tendency of suffering from mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and the rate of memory problems can be reduced by half with the intake of vitamin B. People who suffer from MCI faces great difficulty in remembering things and it has been found that about 16% of the people who have crossed the age of 70 years suffer from MCI. It has also been revealed that Vitamin B like folic acid, B6 and B12 are responsible for controlling the level of homocysteine as it is an amino acid found in blood and it can also increase the risk of Alzheimer’s disease in the body. In the study, about 168 people who participated were suffering from minor memory problems. The participants were divided into two groups and one group was given high dose of Vitamin B in the form of a tablet for two years. The other group was not given any Vitamin B and the experiment continued for two long years. |
