US Ryder Cup Lose Depicts Team Concept Issues

Phil Mickelson had tears in his eyes as his teammates watched as he said the defeat of the United States at the Ryder Cup on Monday was one of the really painful moments in his professional career.

Mickelson is a well-known veteran in the game and Eight Ryder Cups and amidst keeping his emotions tranquil, he showed disappointment that depicted the American team and fans also care a lot about the event. This followed a one-point loss to Europe at Celtic Manor.

Mickelson said that he was more disappointed more than ever, after they have put so much into the competition and wanted a win at all costs. In fact, Mickelson said, they believed they were going to taste victory and came to it at about half a point. Other teammates who could not control their emotions were Bubba Watson and Hunter Mahan, as the U.S. side led by Corey Pavin reflected on a thrilling loss, with the U.S. comeback falling short of what could have been sweet victory by a very small margin.

This time round, the triumph by Europe was not because of Americans’ lack of care or personality clashes in the team.

However, as much as the American team was enjoying the company of one another and were ready to go out and fight collectively for their common cause, the team environment notion did not work for them as naturally as it did with the Europeans.

Jim Furyk, a U.S. veteran said that they knew what the Ryder Cup means to them.
