Not Legal software

Not legal software

Due to the Supreme Court ruling, legal software is not a hot topic. Could this mean the end of free software due to new patent laws? It is no secret that software patents have long been a topic of heated debate. The threats that have been circulating about legal management of such software have had many people scared for a long time. This is why they courts had to take a stand and give people some solid information to work with.

Very few argue that the issue of legal software is one that is confusing and hard to follow. There are many loopholes with this legal management and many wonder if the Supreme Court ruling is really going to help offer more clarification. There are certainly many people very upset about the decision that was made though. You can look online and find many postings about people that don’t agree with what has been stated by the courts.

Those that do agree with it are now pushing for clarity about the use of free software and the patents. They don’t want to use software and find out they are doing so illegally. Those that have been fighting for expanded patent rights though are cheering with this victory, but they know that the war is still far from over. However, they do feel they are on the right path for the results they seek. It will be not only interesting, but also important to see how it all unfolds.
